The German Badminton Association (DBV) is one of the largest European umbrella organizations with around 160,000 members in 16 state associations and, as a top Olympic sports association and member of the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB), represents all the overall interests of German badminton sport nationally and internationally. The office is located in Mülheim an der Ruhr.

The DBV is looking for someone for the high performance sports division as soon as possible.


Head Coach (m/w/d)
These are your tasks
  • You will be under the official supervision of the President and the Sports Director
  • You are responsible for the positive performance development of the federal squad athletes in the elite and follow-up areas.
  • You are responsible for the sports implementation of the high performance sports strategy and concepts as well as guidelines for (young) high performance sports. This includes in particular:
  • The planning, implementation and follow-up of the daily training with the elite squad in collaboration with the coaching team
  • Supervision and coaching of the elite squad at international competitions (especially at the Olympic
  • Games, World/European Championships and international matches)
  • Creating framework competition and training plans for the elite and follow-up areas
  • Creating discipline concepts
  • Compilation of training groups for the elite and follow-up areas within the framework of the structural requirements
  • Collaboration in the creation of world status analyzes including the establishment of conclusive guidelines for practice and transfer
  • Determining scientific/sports medicine framework conditions and needs
  • The nomination for competitions, camps and events in the elite and follow-up areas
  • The sports management of the DBV coaching staff in the elite and follow-up areas
  • The sports management of the team of coaches/experts/supervisors in the elite and follow-up areas
  • Participation in the personnel development of high performance sports staff and in coaches practice/further practice

That is your profile
  • Academic degree in the field of sports science, coaching, or comparable qualification related to the task
  • Highest national/international badminton coaching license
  • Several years of international professional experience in the high performance sport of badminton in leadership positions
  • Good knowledge of German and English, both spoken and written
  • Confident use of common office software (MS Office)
  • Above-average commitment, structured way of working, assertiveness, ability to work in a team
  • A high level of commitment including weekends and longer stays abroad
