French siblings sweep to victory
Toma Junior Popov from France secured a commanding victory over Mark Caljouw from the Netherlands in straight games, with a final score of 21-19, 21-15.

His brother Christo Popov did not play his match today as his opponent Jan Louda from Czechia walked away due to an ongoing injury.

Scottish badminton star Kirsty Gilmour delivered a stellar performance in her match against Wen Chi Hsu from Chinese Taipei, triumphing in three hard-fought games with a scoreline of 21-15, 18-21, 21-19.

Home delight
The Spanish crowd had reasons to cheer as two Spanish mixed doubles pairs, Ruben Garcia/Lucia Rodriguez and Jacobo Fernandez/Paula Lopez, advanced to the next stage with impressive wins.

Mixed emotions
In a closely contested match, Robin Tabeling/Selena Piek from the Netherlands faced a tough challenge against the Danish duo Rasmus Espersen/Amalie Cecilie Kudsk, ultimately falling short with a score of 21-10, 19-21, 15-21.

Meanwhile, Gregory Mairs/Jenny Mairs from England secured a sweet victory over a Singaporean duo, avenging their loss in last year's Irish Open final.
