The European Men’s Team Championships began with reigning champions Denmark facing off against Germany in an exciting morning match. Denmark's Anders Antonsen and Germany's Matthias Kicklitz were the first ones on court for the first men’s singles match.
Antonsen, undefeated this year so far, encountered a formidable challenge from the 22-year-old Kicklitz, who won the first game 21-16. Antonsen rallied to equalise, making it 1 game for all, and then dominated the final game, securing a 21-12 victory in the decider.
Germany pushing the favourites right from the beginning sets the scene for a closely contested team match. Netx up is the men’s doubles, with Denmark's Kim Astrup/ Mads Vestergaard against Germany's Bjarne Geiss/ Jan Colin Voelker.
