It is now just one month until the 2019 RSL Summer School starts, in co-ordination with the Slovenian Badminton Association.
The event will begin on 6 July and will continue until 13 July 2019 in Podcetrtek, Slovenia.
What is in store?
In around one month from now, 29 coaches for the Coach Education Level 2 course will be in Slovenia along with an amazing 51 players from 19 different countries, “which has been a big success” says Badminton Europe’s Junior Manager for Development, Luca Crippa.
Also heading to the Summer School is one Basis Programme applicants as well as seven Women in Badminton Scholarships for coaches.
As well as the Coach Education participants, there is also going to be nine staff coaches: Martjin Van Dooremalen (Netherlands), Maja Kersnik (Slovenia), Eric Pang (Netherlands), Vlada Cherniavskaya (Belarus), Wojciech Szkudlarczyk (Poland), Craig McCourtney (Ireland), Alan Mcllivain (Scotland), Marketa Osickova (Czech Republic), Nicola Cerfontyne (England).
Looking forward to a fantastic week
Badminton Europe’s General Secretary Brian Agerbak has spoken about the legacy that the summer school has and how he expects this year’s event to go.
The Summer School is an event in the Development calendar that is always a highlight of the year.
- The summer school is our longest development activity and it is great to bring players and coaches together, Brian Agerbak said.
- I am very pleased this year that we have a very big interest from both coaches and players to be involved in the summer school. We are running this for all three categories.
- We also have nine very experienced staff coaches who will definitely make their mark on the Summer School and help make it a great event for all involved, he commented
- I am sure that it is going to be a fantastic week, Slovenia are experienced hosts and it is going to be amazing for everyone involved, Agerbak added.
