Three Danes and an Irishman are the European players left as the World Junior Championships goes into the quarter-finals.

Before leaving Ireland for the World Junior Championships Irish Nhat Nguyen believed that he could do good at the Championships.

- I think I can win the World Juniors. That’s what I am going for, Nguyen told Badminton Europe ahead of the tournament.

Will play Korea for a medal
Now the 18-year-old is ready to play for the medals after winning the fourth round clash against Setthanan Piyawatcharavijit from Thailand.

Nguyen won in straight games, 21-14 21-13 and he will face Ji Hoon Choi from Korea in the quarter-final. The winner of the match-up secures at least a bronze medal.

Danish ladies still standing
Through to the quarter-finals is also the European Junior Women’s Single Champion, Line Christophersen. The Dane took a big win beating the second seed, Phittayaporn Chaiwan from Thailand 21-19 21-18.

In the quarter-final Christophersen will have to beat Malaysian Qi Xuan Eoon to claim a medal.
