The audience and community of Kibbutz Hatzor in Israel are excited and looking forward to the start of the 2013 Hatzor International Badminton tournament, which will take place between from 24 to 26 to October. The International Series event offers 5.000 Dollars in prize money.
The tournament, which has been held in the city of Kibbutz Hatzor in the past years (2006-2007) is now re-established for the 3rd time, what made badminton community in Israel very happy.
11 different countries will be represented in the tournament: Israel, Bulgaria, Russia, Portugal, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Croatia, Ukraine, Indonesia, France and Wales.
Zilberman wants to shine on home soil
The best ranked player in the men's singles category is the local favourite and number one shuttler from Israel Misha Zilberman (pictured). Zilberman, who is number 54 in the current BWF world rankings, will try to take the title with the help of the home crowd. Although, he will get some difficult matches from the other high ranked players in the draw as it is Vladimir Malkov (58) from Russia and Jan Fröhlich (70) from the Czech Republic.
The favourite in the women's singles is Olga Golovanova (pictured above) from Russia, but also Maja Tvrdy (world ranking 68) of Slovenia is a serious candidate to lift the trophy.
During the event, the players can enjoy the local restaurants and off-court activities such as a journey to the capital city of Israel, Jerusalem and the Dead Sea.
