Badminton Europe is delighted to announce that the 2014 BEC Summer School will again take place in Denmark. From 19 - 26 July 2014, Badminton Denmark will host one of Badminton Europe’s biggest Development activities. The 33rd edition will take place in the city of Vejen in Southern Denmark.
"Vejen offers fantastic facilities for players and coaches for an activity like this. We have been very satisfied with the hosting of last year's edition. So we are happy to go to Vejen again in 2014", says Jeroen van Dijk, Development Manager at Badminton Europe.
This initiative is the longest run development activity of Badminton Europe. It is expected to welcome participants from many of our Member Associations. In 2013, 51 players, 19 coaches and 8 staff coaches from 24 different countries met in Vejen Idrætscenter to have an unforgettable week around badminton.
The BEC Summer School is a combination of a training camp for talented junior players and a coach education course open to all European nations. The complete training programme is managed by 8-10 staff of experienced European Coaches including preferably at least some national junior coaches with a proven track record. The participating coaches are assisting the staff with the training of the talented youngsters and at the same time experience a coaching course led by the staff. The BEC Summer School aims to provide social interaction amongst participants as well as hard work and learning on the badminton court for the players, the coaches and the staff. Players and Coaches come from all over Europe to attend the Summer School.
We will soon publish a documentary of the 2013 BEC Summer School in Vejen.
