Selena Piek and Jacco Arends own Belgian International. For the third time the Dutch claimed the title in Leuven.

For the first time ever a mixed double won back-to-back titles at Belgian International. Selena Piek and Jacco Arends are now part of the history of the tournament.

The top seeds won in straight games against Adam Hall and Julie Macphersons 21-11 21-13 and won the Belgian for the third time.

- We showed character
The Dutch winners have been struggling enjoying playing badminton. Today they were happy. Of course.

- You can tell on my smile, that I was happy today. I am very happy with the level we have been showing, and winning a tournament of course also helps, Selena Piek says.

- We had a really good start which was crucial again. We have had that all week and I am happy with what. We kept pushing, and we showed good character and were able to crack them, Arends says.

Bright future for the opponent
Adam Hall and Julie Macpherson were not even close to winning the title in Leuven, but Selena Piek believes that the Scottish youngsters can do good in the future.

- It is a huge achievement for them. They have been beating some very good pairs along the way, and they also beat some good players in Spain, Piek says.

- If they continue to play like they do, I think they have a bright future ahead of them.
