History working group met in Copenhagen

The Badminton Europe History working Group held its annual meeting at BEC’s headquarters on Sunday, 11 August in Copenhagen, Denmark. The Chairman and current BEC President Joao Matos (Portugal) could welcome all members of the working group: Torsten Berg (Denmark), Horst Kullnigg (Austria), Gisela Hoffmann (Germany) and Tom Bacher (Denmark) to discuss several issues on Badminton Europe history related topics. One important issue at Sunday’s meeting was the preparation of the 50th anniversary of Badminton Europe in 2017.

"The idea behind this working group that is to preserve the invaluable information this long serving members have on former EBU and now BEC activities and how it progressed to this days", said Joao Matos.

The BEC History working group was established in 2008.
