With only one day to go until the start of the World Championships, Badminton Europe caught up with Russian Women’s singles player Natalia Perminova.
The Russian was about to go onto the courts in Nanjing, China for her final practice before her game against the Danish player Mia Blichfeldt tomorrow.
Prepared at Russian Open
We asked her about her preparation for this tournament:
- Two weeks ago I was at a training camp with the Russian National team in Vladivostok, and I’ve just played in the Russian Open so I’ve had great preparation and feel quite well. I’m not suffering from jet lag, and the conditions here are similar to Vladivostoc, so I’m ready!
World number 74, Perminova faces Blichfeldt for the third time, most recently they played a tight match in Orleans, France, and adds:
- I have played Blichfeldt a few times, and of course I have analysed my last game against her in France.
Nothing to lose
Determination to do well in the World Championships come through when she adds
- I have nothing to lose! I have been working hard this summer to prepare myself mentally and physically for this challenge, I am 100% ready. I just want to win!
