The countdown is on for the most anticipated event in the continental calendar as the European Championships take place from 24 – 29 April 2018 in Huelva, Spain.
In last year’s championships, England’s Rajiv Ouseph took the men’s singles title and Chris and Gabrielle Adcock smashed their way to the top of the podium. Meanwhile, Spain’s golden girl, Carolina Marin, won her third consecutive women’s singles title.
Denmark impressed in the doubles department, with Kamilla Rytter Juhl and Christinna Pedersen storming to victory – they’ll be feeling fresh in this year’s Championships following an astonishing victory at the Yonex All England just last month. Similarly, Denmark demonstrated their dominance in the Men’s doubles – taking over the entire podium in 2017, with Mathias Boe and Carsten Mogensen standing at the top.
At 20 years old, England’s Ben Lane is looking to build on his run of wins from last year. Only 5 months ago, he won Gold at the Italian International with mixed doubles partner, Jessica Pugh – overcoming compatriots Marcus Ellis and Lauren Smith in the final.
