Denmark won both the European Men’s and the Women’s Team Championships in Kazan, and the five new European U15 Champions are crowned. The first European badminton Championships of 2018 has come to an end, and it is a satisfied General Secretary of Badminton Europe who is leaving Kazan.
- The Championships have been exceptionally well organized. The setup has been fantastic, and the experienced Russian organisers, with an army of volunteers, have made the stay a pleasant one for all participants, Brian Agerbak says.
- It is a pleasure for me to see the European U15 talents playing in the same setup as the biggest badminton stars of Europe, Agerbaks says, while he congratulates the new U15 European Champions on their titles and the Danish national teams on winning both team events.

Great to see new-comers
The 2018 European Men’s & Women’s Team Championships was the 7th edition of this particular event, and Brian Agerbak is happy to see, that new Member Associations are taking part in the event.
- It is great to see Greenland and Azerbaijan taking part for the first time. The European badminton community is growing all the time, and to see 40 Member Associations in Kazan is just amazing.
Event is growing
The Directorate for Sports and Social Projects and the National Badminton Federation of Russia played a key role as event organizers, and the Chairman of the Council at the National Badminton Federation of Russia, Andrey Antropov is glad to see, that a lot of teams came to Kazan.

Learnt from 2016
The 2016 European Men’s & Women’s Team Championships and European U15 Championships were also held in Kazan, and the Chairman of the Council at the National Badminton Federation of Russia is pleased, that Kazan once again got the chance to organize one of Badminton Europe’s major Championships.

- We learnt a lot from the 2016 Championships, and when I look back on this event, I will for sure remember, that every guest was satisfied, Antropov says.
- For me the European badminton community feels like one big family, and I am very pleased to see all the good relations between federations in Europe.
Looking forward to 2020
The 2020 European Men’s & Women’s Team Championship and European U15 Championships will take place in France.
- We only just finished the tournament in Kazan were we used the opportunity to meet with the French Federation who will organize these Championships in 2020. The French Federation delegates were full of praise of the Russian organisers and are very excited to take on the challenge of hosting this huge event in 2020, Brian Agerbak says.
