For the third time in history Denmark and England are facing each other in the final at the European Men’s Team Championships.

In 2008 Denmark and England met in the men’s final in Almere, Netherlands. The profiles were among others Kenneth Jonassen, Nathan Robertson, Anthony Clark, Mathias Boe and Joachim Fischer. But also a young Rajiv Ouseph who lost in men’s singles to the five times European Champion Peter Gade.

Sunday Ouseph has the chance to play Anders Antonsen in the the first men’s single after Denmark beat Germany 3-1 in the semi-finals.

Good start for Denmark
Anders Antonsen won against Marc Zwiebler in three games 21-13 19-21 21-16, while Mads Conrad-Petersen and Mads Pieler Kolding won the first men’s double in straight games 21-14 21-10 against Jones Ralfy Jansen and Josche Zurwonne.

- We had good movement and good speed, and our defence was good, and that was the deciding factor, Conrad and Kolding said after the match.

Kai Schäfer brought Germany back on the scoreboard beating Emil Holst 21-18 21-18, but in the end it was not enough for the German.

Astrup and Christiansen victorious
The new men’s double for this tournament, Kim Astrup and Mathias Christiansen won the second men’s doubles against Mark Lamsfuss and Marvin Emil Seidel 21-17 25-23 securing the 3-1 victory.
