Between the 9th and 13th of July Badminton Ireland Hosted a Pre-Olympic training camp at the Irish Badminton Europe certified training centre in Dublin. The camp was led by Korean Coach Lee Jae Bok with the support of Badminton Ireland National Coach Daniel Magee.

Pedro Martins from Portugal, Ragna Ingolfsdottir from Iceland, Ville Lang from Finland, Petr Koukal from Czech Republic and Hadia Hosny along with Irish Olympian’s Scott Evans and Chloe Magee trained intensively for a week in their preparations for the Games. The Olympians were supported by the Irish national development squad. The Players trained in the Ireland’s accredited European training centre twice a day with a focus on quality practise and match preparation in the lead up to the Olympics.

“It was great to have such a good coach in Lee Jae Bok and to have some of Europe’s best players to spar with here in Ireland”, shared Irish Olympian Chloe Magee.

Players had a tough week on court and were able to look at different elements of their performance including their on-court game, off-court preparation and some athletes even had time to fit in a Psychology Seminar, nutritional workshop, as well as strength and conditioning sessions with experts from the Irish Institute of sport.
