Carola Bott was unable to defend her title from last year at today's finals day of the 2012 FZ Forza Slovenia international. The blonde German lost to young Swiss hope Nicole Schaller in a two games match. The men's singles crown was also relatively easily grabbed by former English number one Andrew Smith, who has never been really threatened by Mohit Kamat of India today. The Brit won in straight games 21-18, 21-17 over his Asian opponent who is currently training in Italy.
The easiest match of today was however the mixed doubles finals. The top seeded Croatians Zvonimir Durkinjak and Stasa Poznanovic overcome the relatively inexperienced young German pair of Hannes Käsbauer and Kira Kattenbeck. Zvonimir Durkinjak was represented in two finals as he also -together with his doubles partner Hoelbling - moved into the men's doubles finals. But this time, it was not such an one-sided affair as the German opposition of Heinz/Jansen was eventually broken in the third game.
The match which was played at the same time as women’s doubles was well received by the spectators while the women’s doubles became the closest match of the day. Second seed Isabel Herttrich and Inken Wienefeld beat the top seeded pair of Thomas/Turner to wrap up a successful tournament in Slovenia.
