At the start of the 2012 Banuinvest International Badminton Championships, 37 countries will align 181 players. The Romanian city of Timisoara is the host of the 7th edition of this traditional March badminton event which is an International Series tournament and offers 5.000 US Dollars in prize money.

Countries like Germany, Denmark, France have sent strong teams where we can also refind former succesful junior players. But they will have to face strong opponents from Indonesia, Malaysia, India, United States and Japan. Even the men's singles category has seen a couple of withdrawals, there are still a lot of quality players in the competition to fight for the Romanian crowns.

Today, the tournament starts with the qualification stage in the men’s singles and the women’s singles.
