Today is the first day for our new employee Pavel Florián. He will be joining the BEC Office as the new Junior Manager in Events.

He is 29 years old and comes from Český Krumlov, Czech Republic. He started to play badminton when he was 8 years old and have played it competitively until April 2016. Achieving some excellent results on national level, including 6 National Championship titles in doubles and mixed doubles, he also managed to become number 56 of the BWF World Ranking in men´s doubles, reach four International Series Tournament finals and won one of them. His biggest success is to have qualified and competed at the 1st European Games in Baku 2015 with Ondřej Kopřiva in men´s doubles.

Most of his career has been linked with his home badminton club, SKB Český Krumlov, one of the best and biggest in the Czech Republic. His coaches Radek Votava, Jiří Frendl, and other great people from there, have made a huge impact on his life.

However, having been one of the top Czech players during the past ten years, he has finished his Bachelor‘s degree in philology earlier this year and felt time has come for new, off-court challenges.

„To work for Badminton Europe is a great opportunity for me. On one hand, I hope to stay in touch with elite badminton even if it is not as a player, and on the other hand, it is a chance to try and help to improve the standard of badminton events on the European continent“, says Florián on his first day.

We are very pleased to have you on board, Pavel!
