Dutch dominance in Tallinn

The finals day of the Yonex Estonian International 2012 has seen a clear dominance in the doubles categories by players from the Netherlands. Additionally to the strong doubles performce by "Oranje" it was Judith Meulendijks who took the woman's singles title and coloured Estonian capital Tallinn a bit Orange.

Elizabeth Cann (England)  went down 21-13, 10-21, 21-14 against former world top 20 player Meulendijks. The Dutch is an opponent she has never beaten in seven meetings. But she took a game off the recent Scottish International winner for the first time in matches dating back to 2001.

Ville Lang of Finland beat local hero Raul Must in two straight games to start the new year succesful. It is Lang's Badminton Europe circuit title number 12.

The women's doubles were dominated by Selena Piek and Iris Tabeling who won in an all-Dutch affair against Samantha Barning and Ilse Vaessen in three games. Also the mixed doubles title went to Dutch players as Khodabux/Piek won over their compatriots de Ruiter/Barning in 23 minutes. French's Laurent Constantin and Sebastien Vincent beat Jorrit De Ruiter/Dave Khodabux (Netherlands) to secure the men's doubles crown.
