Next year's European Men’s and Women’s Team Championships will take place in Kazan, with the team championships and the U15 tournament to be staged in the Russian city of Kazan, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, as it has been officially confirmed on Saturday.
The contracts for the hosting of the events were completed at the 2015 Annual Delegates' Meeting in Paris, where Badminton Europe President Gregory Verpoorten signed the deals along with Andrey Antropov, chairman of the Council of the National Badminton Federation of Russia.
It was agreed that the 2016 European Men's and Women's Team Championships would take place in Kazan from 16-21 February, and the 2016 European U15 Championships will be held alongside the event from 19-21 February. The competitions will be held in the Kazan Gymnastics Center, the same venue which successfully hosted the 2014 INTERSPORT European Championships in April 2014.
The 2016 European Men’s and Women’s Team Championships will count as European qualification towards the 2016 Thomas & Uber Cup Finals.
