Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty delighted the home crowd when securing a spot in the men’s doubles final at the YONEX SUNRISE India Open 2024.

The packed arena in the capital New Delhi cheered as their favourite stars defeated Malaysia’s Aaron Chia/ Soh Wooi Yik in two straight games, 21-18, 21-14.

The Asian Games gold medallists, who are now in back-to-back finals, will face the World Champions from Korea, Kang Min Hyuk/ Seo Seung Jae in what will be a match not to be missed.

Heartbreak for H. S. Prannoy
Prannoy went on a deep run, hoping to join Lakshya Sen, Srikanth Kidambi and Prakash Padukone as previous Indian men’s singles champions on home soil. However, Shi Yu Qi halted this dream with a 21-15, 21-5 win.

Shi will face off against Lee Cheuk Yiu of Hong Kong China in the final.
