The stage is set for the VICTOR Swedish Open finals in Uppsala, Sweden. With two out of four remaining Europeans facing each other in the men's singles final, one title is guaranteed to stay in Europe today.

Kalle Koljonen has a great run these days in Uppsala. The 29-year-old from Finland has powered his way through to the final and is eying his first international title after losing the five previous finals in his career.

The man who wants to stop him is Victor Svendsen from Denmark. And with a head-to-head advantage of 7-1, the Dane, and number one seed in Uppsala, seems to be the obvious favourite once again.

"He is quite good against me but tomorrow is a new day. After losing seven out of eight matches against him, I will probably have to come up with a new tactic. I will try my best. One more to go", said Koljonen after his semifinal win on Saturday.

Bugtrup and Surrow aim for gold

The second European title hopes are Sebastian Bugtrup and Mai Surrow from Denmark. The mixed doubles pair mastered a thrilling semifinal against Takeuchi/Kawazoe from Japan winning 21-16, 20-22, 22-20 in 61 minutes.

Their tactics for the final are as simple as effective: "I get the lift and he does the smashes", recapped Surrow their key to success in this tournament so far.

This are today's finals match-ups:

MD:
Reymond Indra / Daniel Edgar Marvino (IDN) vs. Teges Satriaji Cahyo Hutomo / Christopher David Wijaya (IDN)

WD: Maiko Kawazoe / Sorano Yoshikawa (JPN) vs. Kanano Muroya / Miku Sugiyama (JPN)

MS: Victor Svendsen (DEN) vs. Kalle Koljonen (FIN)

WS: Hina Akechi (JPN) vs. Lo Sin Yan Happy (HKG)

XD: Jafar Hidayatullah / Aisyah Salsabila Putri Pranata (IDN) vs. Sebastian Bugtrup / Mai Surrow (DEN)

Matches start at 10:00am and will be streamed live on badmintoneurope.tv
