Baku 2015 draws released

Badminton Europe (BEC) today held the draw for the 1st European Games in Baku competition. The competition will take place at the Baku Sports Hall from 22-28 June.

Mr Brian Agerbak, General Secretary of Badminton Europe, said: “For Badminton Europe it has been a great experience to take part in the preparations leading up to the Baku 2015 European Games. As the draw has now been conducted, the real countdown to the Games can begin, and we are very much looking forward to being in Baku, and to seeing players from 33 of our member associations compete at this fantastic event. Today’s draw has given us some very interesting groups, and we are sure that we will see some great badminton being played in the Baku Sports Hall during the seven days of competition.”

Mr Pierce O’Callaghan, Director of Sport at Baku 2015, added: “I welcome the draw for the badminton competition at Baku 2015, which promises to be a wonderful event featuring some of Europe’s best competitors. Europe has a strong tradition in the sport, and Baku 2015 will be a great showcase for our continent’s athletes.”
