EU17C23: Individual Event Finals Wrap Up

Congratulations to all the winners and participants, what a thrilling day of finals at the 2023 European U17 Championships Individual event. 

In the mixed doubles category, French duo Ewan Goulin and Agathe Cuevas emerged victorious after a hard-fought battle against Jesper Østergaard Christensen and Caroline Mouritsen from Denmark. Final score: 21-15, 13-21, 21-11.

In the men's singles category, Salomon Adam Thomasen, from Denmark, showcased his prowess by overcoming top seed Tiago Berenguer from Portugal. 

The men's doubles final witnessed Timeo Lacour and Arsene Serre of France save five match points to defeat Polish duo Mikolaj Morawski and Krzysztof Podkowinski, with a thrilling scoreline of 21-11, 21-23, 21-23.

With an impressive tournament under her belt, Ukrainian star Anastasiia Alymova managed two gold medals. First, in the women's singles match against German contender Katharina Nilges and then in the women’s doubles final, with partner Raiia Almalalha.

The 2023 European U17 Championships have come to an end after a spectacular week of badminton. The tournament showcased the immense talent and determination of young badminton players from across Europe. We hope to see these rising stars on the big stage in the next few years.
