Carolina Marin has triumphantly returned to the All England final for the first time in nine years, standing as the sole European contender to advance past the semifinals.

Despite exits for France’s Christo Popov against Anthony Sinisuka Ginting from Indonesia and the Dutch duo Robin Tabeling/ Selena Piek against Japan’s Yuta Watanabe/ Arisa Higashino, their remarkable performances in the tournament deserve applause.

Marin secured an important victory in a rematch of the All England 2015 semifinal against Tai Tzu Ying from Chinese Taipei, emerging victorious in straight games to secure her spot in the final, echoing her success from nine years prior. Now, she is set to compete against Japan’s Akane Yamaguchi, who comes off a challenging match today, potentially giving Marin an advantage.
