The Round of 16 at the YONEX German Open 2024 had many European players delivering intense performances.

Germany's Mark Lamsfuss/Marvin Seidel, fifth seeds, and crowd favourites, were up against Danish duo Andreas Søndergaard/ Jesper Toft. After losing the first game, they fought back to win 18-21, 21-19, 21-18, much to the delight of the home audience.

The tournament also witnessed other remarkable matches, with unseeded contenders overcoming seeded opponents. Belgium’s Julien Carraggi triumphed over Canada's fifth-seeded Brian Yang in a stunning match, 16-21, 21-15, 21-14. Similarly, France’s Qi Xuefei defeated Scotland’s Kirsty Gilmour, the eighth seed, in a nail-biter, 19-21, 22-20, 23-21.
