Off to a flying start

The YONEX German Open 2024 started today, beginning with the qualification rounds and featuring the first round of some men’s and women’s doubles matches.

Day one had triumphs for top German pairs Linda Efler/Isabel Lohau and Mark Lamsfuss/Marvin Seidel at the Super 300 event, marking a positive start for the host nation’s stars.

Victories in the first round were also claimed by Bulgaria's Gabriela Stoeva/ Stefani Stoeva, Danes Maiken Fruergaard/Sara Thygesen, and France's Popov brothers as well as Margot Lambert/ Anne Tran.

The qualification rounds saw European players including Ukraine’s Polina Buhrova and Danylo Bosniuk, and France’s Lucas Claerbout advance to the main draw. For complete results from the day, click here.
