Sisimiut, Greenland’s second largest town, hosted a three-day Shuttle Time Teachers Course which was attended by 11 enthusiastic participants.

The course, held from 9 to 11 October 2023, was arranged in cooperation with the municipality. Sisimiut has approximately 5,500 inhabitants.

Delivered by Miko Kongstad, Shuttle Time National Coordinator of Greenland, the course had participants from diverse groups, including PE teachers from primary school, high school and students from a local college.

The participants showed great interest in the course and were able to pick up the theoretical aspects of the programme as well as its practical side. Equipment kits with rackets and shuttles will be delivered to the designated schools to encourage and support the teachers.

Badminton Kalaallit Nunaat (Greenland Badminton Federation) is working towards integrating badminton into the school curriculum by implementing the Shuttle Time School Programme in Greenland’s educational institutions. Simultaneously, the organisation is dedicated to advancing the sport within the local community.
