First day of badminton brilliance

Day 3 of the YONEX Welsh International Championships 2023 kicked off the main draw with intense competition.

Among the standout players was the 17-year-old Kaloyana Nalbaltova, Bulgaria, who delivered a great performance winning 21-16 21-14 against Dane Irina Amalie Andersen.

European Games bronze medallist Jenjira Stadelmann secured her win against Scottish player Rachel Sugden. In a post-match interview, Stadelmann reflected on the nuances of playing at major events like the European Games compared to the Welsh International.

The Wales International continues today with the Round of 16, starting at 11am (CET), and with the Quarterfinals being played at 4pm (CET). Tune in to badmintoneurope.tv to watch all matches.
