Following the latest development in Israel it has been decided between the Israel Badminton Association and Badminton Europe to cancel the YONEX Israel Open which was due to take place in Kibbutz Hatzor 26-28 October 2023.

The health and safety for players, officials and organizers are of utmost importance, and taking into consideration the devastating news coming out of Israel the past days, it has been decided to cancel the scheduled event and avoid any unnecessary travelling to the affected areas.

“The situation is extremely serious, and our thoughts are with the affected people in Israel.”, BEC President Sven Serré stated in connection with the cancellation of the event. “The safety of players and officials come first, so cancelling the event is the only right thing to do at this point, taking the current situation into consideration”, Serré continued.

The cancellation has today been communicated to BWF who will officially send out a cancellation to the full Membership shortly.

The current situation is considered a matter of Force Majeure in accordance with BEC Circuit Regulations and BWF General Competition Regulations.
