The European silver medalist was left feeling relieved and happy after returning to title-winning ways on home soil at the Victor Denmark Masters 2021.

Since her Belgian and Dutch International wins in 2019, Christophersen has been rapidly improving and increasing her level. However, the 21-year-old after three World Tour and one European Championship finals, she misses that winning feeling.

Playing her compatriot, Julie Dawall Jakobsen, whom she plays every day in training, Christophersen played a solid game. Flying away with the first game, she was then able to hold off the onslaught from Jakobsen in the second game.

-I had to be a little more patient because she stressed me a lot in the second game. I pushed a little bit too much so I did some clears to make the court bigger.

On what she is most pleased about her game at the moment.

-I am happy that I am a little bit more patient, taking my attack when it’s time and not too early.

Sibling teasing
There was added pressure today as her brother, who lost in the second round in the men’s singles, reminded her of the recent titles she missed out on.

-I am really happy right now. My brother [Mads Christophersen] has joked a bit about the match today so I am just happy that I got the win.
