Basova: I did not expect this at all

Thursday morning Basova and Kaisti walked on court trying secure their spot in the main draw. Tomorrow morning, they will walk on court to fight for a spot in finals.

Alzbeta Basova, Czech Republic, and Anton Kaisti, Finland, are playing their second tournament together and, as in their first tournament, they have reached the semifinals.

- I did not expect this at all. I should have played the Polish league tomorrow, but now I can not go. It is our second tournament together, so there is a reason why we are in the qualification. It was quite hard matches here, especially against the seeded Danes (Amalie Magelund and Mikkel Mikkelsen). But we are really happy about it, Basova said.

Basova and Kaisti played Mikkelsen and Magelund in the second round, where the Czech Republic/Finland combination came out on top 17-21 21-17 21-18.

The quarterfinal was on both on the paper and on the court a lot easier. They played against England’s Max Flynn and Fee Teng Liew. And in just 20 min, they had won 21-12 21-7.

- We started both of the games out well, and they did not really know what to do. It seemed like they lost a bit of their game and then it was easy to just keep our focus and win it quite easy, Kaisti stated.

Tomorrow Basova and Kaisti will face Tseng Min Hao and Hsieh Pei Shan from Chinese Taipei.

We will do everything we can tomorrow, Basova ended.
