It is time to nominate for a spot in the Badminton Europe Athletes´ Commission.
The BEC Athletes’ Commission consists of four members. The nomination of this spot is for a para-badminton player. The role of the BEC Athletes´ Commission is to act as the link between active European badminton players, European para-badminton players and the BEC Board of Directors and Commissions. The successful candidate will be a member in both the BEC Athletes´ Commission and the Para-Badminton Commission.
To nominate
- Nominations can be made by an Eligible Player or in agreement with the Eligible Player, by his/her Member Association
- A nomination must be accompanied by a photograph and short biography of the nominee and the reasons why that player seeks election to the BEC Athletes’ Commission
- Nominated players agree that their photo and biography be sent to BEC Member Associations and published on BEC website and social media
- Email the above to the BEC General Secretary, Brian Agerbak at brian.agerbak@badmintoneurope.com by Tuesday 13th August 2019 at 12.00 CET
- The list and information of the eligible nominees will be published on Wednesday 14th August 2019
To elect
- Eligible players may only vote once (if more votes are received from one player all votes will be considered void)
- E-mail voting will start on Thursday 15th August 2019 and end on Wednesday 21st August 2019 at 23.59 CET
- To vote send e-mail to players@badmintoneurope.com and stipulate the player you wish to vote for (remember to attach passport front page for identification)
- Physical voting will be possible on Thursday, 22nd August 2019 from 10:00 to 13:00 at St. Jakobshalle in Basel at the information desk at the entrance
To be eligible for election to the BEC Athletes Commission, an “Eligible Player” must:
• be representing a Member Association of BEC and be in good standing with his or her Member Association; and
• be at least 18 years of age and must not have been sanctioned for a doping or a betting, wagering or irregular match offence during his or her sports career; and
• be an active player, where an active player is defined as:
- A player who is present on the World Ranking List at the time of his or her election; and/or
- A player who has participated in any of the latest European Para-Badminton Championships, Para-Badminton World Championships
