How the Women's Singles seeding looks

Ahead of the European Games, the seeding for the Women’s Singles category has been released, for the multi-sport event which gets underway next month.

There is a number of high-profile names in the list and it is set up to be a great event with a lot of competition between the best players in Europe.

1 - LINE KJÆRSFELDT – The Dane tops the seeding for her category at the event in Minsk next month. Kjærsfeldt was part of the Denmark Sudirman Cup squad to reach the quarter finals in Nanning and also reached the final of the Barcelona Spain Masters in February 2019.

2 – MIA BLICHFELDT – The 21-year old is definitely a great up and coming player for European Badminton. Blichfeldt despite her age has already won so much and has not even reached a peak in her career. The Dane won the Denmark Challenge in May as well as the Barcelona Spain Masters against Line Kjærsfeldt in the final.

3 – KIRSTY GILMOUR – The Scottish Women’s Singles player is seeded number three for the European Games. Gilmour is definitely one to watch at the event having proven herself so many times. Gilmour reached the final of the Orleans Masters this year.

4 – EVGENIYA KOSETSKAYA – The Russian is the four seed for the event. Kosetskaya played a pivotal part in Russia reaching the semi-final of the 2019 European Mixed Team Championships in Copenhagen, back in February. She also achieved the Bronze medal at the 2018 European Championships in Huelva, Spain. 
5 – YVONNE LI – The German is seeded number five for the event in Minsk. The 20-year old is ranked number 40 in the world and recently reached the final of the Polish Open in March. Li was also part of the German team to win Silver at the European Mixed Team Championships.

6 – BEATRIZ CORRALES – The Spaniard finds herself as a 6th seed for the European Games. Corrales is ranked 45 in the world and will be looking to impress and impress Spanish fans with her being the best Women’s Singles player from her country, as Carolina Marin is not competing due to injury.

7 – NESLIHAN YIGIT – The Turkish Women’s Singles player is the seventh seed for the tournament in Minsk. Yegit is 46th in the World Rankings and reached the semi-final of the Finnish Open 2019 in April, as well as the last four of the Orelans Masters in March.

8 – CHLOE BIRCH –  Lastly, the number eight seed for the European Games in Minsk is Chloe Birch. The English Women’s Singles player is a strong competitor when she wants to be and will also compete in Women’s Doubles with her partner Lauren Smith.
