In less than two weeks the World Championships for teams will start in Nanjing, China: The Sudirman Cup. With 31 teams from all over the world, divided in 4 groups, this event promises to be exciting for everyone. Slovakia is one of the European teams that will be competing in Nanjing.

Slovakia is placed in group 3B and will face Switzerland, Sri Lanka and Lithuania in the round robin stage. Martina Repiska is one of the players that represents team Slovakia.

- Our goal will be to go full out in every single match against each team and try to win as many games as possible.

- We want to show to the rest of the world that even our small team of 6 players and one coach can be a dangerous opponent!

Needless to say, the Sudirman Cup is not like any other event. Repiska and her team realize that as well and want to make the best out of their time in Nanjing.

- We want to enjoy the competition because it’s going to be exciting and a huge experience for all of us.

Repiska also has her personal reasons for looking forward to the Sudirman Cup 2019.

- I want to play my best game, bring points for the team, and also learn, enjoy and have fun! I am also excited to see the top players fighting for the title in the same arena!
