Markham, Canada, Sunday 18th of November. At this day and place, Line Christophersen (Denmark) set a great example as the first European girl to win a silver medal at the World Junior Championships.

Unfortunately, the gold medal was one step too far. Christophersen beat each higher seeded player on her way to the final, but the youth Olympic and 2015 world Junior champion turned out to be too strong.

It also has to be said that Jin Wei Goh (Malaysia) was even more dominant during the tournament than Christophersen. Goh won everything in straight games, giving no one more than thirteen points per game.

The final was no different. Christophersen went down 13-21 11-21. However, she made an exquisite result! Hopefully more European girls will follow her example!
