"He was the better man today"

Anders Antonsen’s Denmark Open 2018 journey ended today with a defeat to his opponent Chou Tien Chen who won after a three game thriller.


The first match was comfortable for the Dane in the beginning but as the game progressed the number four seed settled more into the contest


From then on it was the Tien Chen’s to lose, after winning 21-11 in the second game he then took the third as well 21-12.



Not leaving without a fight


Antonsen certainly showed what he was capable of in the first game and throughout the Denmark Open tournament.


The 21-year-old had no excuses speaking to Badminton Europe after the match speaking to BEC.


-  I think he was the better man today and he deserved the win. I was fighting with the best that I have learnt but he was more clever than me when he needed to be, Anders Antonsen said.



Positives to take from the tournament


Antonsen will leave the tournament having beaten his countryman Viktor Axelsen in the previous round and does have a lot of positives to take forward.



-  Of course, there is a lot of positives to take from the Denmark Open. Overall, I am quite happy with the way the week has gone for me, he added.
