Jelle Maas and Robin Tabeling (The Netherlands) played the men’s doubles final at the Dutch Open 2018 against Ade Yusuf Santoso & Wahyu Nayaka Arya Pangkaryanira (Indonesia). Unfortunately, they lost the final in three games, but were very happy about their performance this week.

In the longest match of the day of over an hour, Maas and Tabeling went down in three games: 19-21 21-17 11-21

- I think we overall played a good game. It is just unfortunate that we made too many mistakes at the start of the third game that cut the tie in the end, Tabeling stated to Badminton Europe.

- But I think it was a nice match and we did everything we could to win it.

More consistency

The Dutch pair did not only enjoy this tournament, but also got some learning points to keep in mind

- The most important aspect from this tournament is that with the right tactics, we could give these pairs a hard time. We just need to be able to do this more often and consistent

- we had an awesome week in in front of our home crowd and are satisfied after all!
