Badminton Europe in close cooperation with the Slovenian Badminton Federation organized its first coach education level 2 tutor course in Podčetrtek, Slovenia. The course took place in Terme Olimia which is a very nice spa resort. The participants enjoyed the facilities after the long days in the hall and this resulted in a very relaxed atmosphere during the course days.
There were 21 enthusiastic participants from 13 countries. The interest in the course was very big and therefore the course was led by four trainers. Mike Woodward was the course leader assisted by Jakob Toft, Robert Wetherell and Jeroen van Dijk. The goal of the course was to educate the candidates to become tutors.
The focus on the first day was on the role of a tutor and on how to evaluate the coaches as a tutor. This all sounds very confusing but Mike made a great demonstration which guided the candidates in the right direction. The subject of the second day was; how to assess and how to give feedback as a tutor. This was trained through role play exercises. The shortest day was the third day of the course. This day was used on how to give feedback to a candidate that did not pass the course, theoretical questions in the resources and on feedback on this first course.
