Breaking news from the YONEX All England 2023: Carolina Marin pulled out of the tournament due to illness. 

The former world champion pathed her way through to the quarterfinals despite being not in good health condition. She did not look the same on court and was coughing a lot between rallies in yesterday's match. She still managed to win but her condition did not get better before today's quarterfinal against An Se Young from Korea.

She officially withdrew just a few minutes ago following advise from the tournament doctor and her team manager.
