The first Coach Education Level 1 Tutors Course since the COVID-19 lockdown has taken place.

In the weekend of 4-6 September, the Coach Education Level 1 Tutors Course was held in Warsaw, Poland.

10 participants from seven different countries attending the course and the course was led by Martjin Van Dooremalen, Netherlands and Craig McCourtney, Ireland. Luca Crippa, Development & High Performance Officer from Badminton Europe, was also present at the course.

- We are happy to be back on court. We were the last event before the lockdown, and we are now the first event after. It is important to slowly come back to the activities, Luca Crippa says.

During the course the participants had lessons in a classroom as well as practical exercises in a sports hall.

Happy participants

Tina Riedl, General Secretary for the Austrian Badminton Association and participant at the course, is happy to be physically back at the courses.

- I think all the participants are very happy to have an education again in 3D after the long break. We had three good days here together with Martjin and Craig. We hope that we all will be able to work a lot with the coach education in our countries to spread the knowledge, Tina Riedl says.

A good course to take

Robbert De Kaijzer from the Netherlands, who also participated in the tutor course, is satisfied about the outcome of the course and feel everybody have gotten more knowledge.

- I work as a coach for the federation and they sent me here to attend the BWF Coach Education Tutor Course, which is a part of our plan in the Netherlands to introduce the BWF system, De Kaijzer says.

- I found it very nice, good coaches, good group and good organization. It is a very good course to take and everyone can take something out of it, due to the good feedback and that you also learn from each other.

Determination and commitment

It is no doubt a little bit more challenging to organize this course during these uncertain times, but it could not be possible without the supporting parties. Huge applaud to the Experts, participants and the Polish Badminton Federation for their determination and commitment.

We are optimistic to continue organizing courses and delivering them in the safest way and hope that our Member Associations will continue to support our activities.
