The Badminton Europe Confederation (BEC) would like to wish the Romanian Badminton Federation a happy 30th anniversary.

The Romanian Badminton Federation was established on 29 January 1990, although the game has been practiced in Romanian territory since 1974. They became a part of the BEC (former European Badminton Union) the same year as it was founded, 1990.

The federation has 550 players allocated in 36 different clubs all around Romania.

Some important results of the players were at the Balkan level, where numerous gold, silver and bronze medals have been obtained, in the team and individual categories.

Romania will host the 2020 BEC Congress from 2 to 5 April 2020.

Who's patience will win
Elena Maria Nicolae, the President of the Romanian Badminton Federation, had this to say about the federation turning 30.

- In my mind, the purpose of the Romanian Badminton Federation is to create the premise that badminton should become a national priority. This thing will happen, but not over night. There is a need to take time in order to cause a revolution in this sport. Who's patience will win.

Carmen Blanaru, the General Secretary of the Romanian Badminton Federation, continues.

- Although we celebrate today, the 29 January 2020, the 30th birth-year of our federation, badminton in Romania has been practiced for around 45 years already.

- We are happy to be part of the awesome badminton-family and we will do our best for a productive collaboration in the future.
