The action vigorously continues this week as well, with the White Nights 2019 taking place in Gatchina, Russia from 10th to 14th of July.

With the level high for one more time, all the athletes will do their best in hope of winning a title.

Many capable Russians players will also participate in this BWF event, putting on a spectacle for the Russian crowd.

Strong perspective in Doubles

The bronze medal winners of the European Games 2019, in the late June, Ekaterina Bolotova and Alina Davletova, seem ready to achieve good results in their home country.

The impressive Russian pair is the favorite and will meet their compatriots Tatjana Bibik and Elena Komendrovskaja in the 2nd round of the main draw.

Whereas, on the other side of the draw, the number two seeds Jakkampudi Meghana and Poorvisha S Ram from India will play against the hosts Alina Busygina and Tatiana Samburskaia.

The same holds for the category of the Mixed Doubles with the powerful pair Rodion Alimov and Alina Davletova who are seeded as number one.

The winners of the White Nights 2018 seem to be ready to defend their title on home soil, however, in the 2st round of the main draw they will have to compete against either their compatriots Georgii Petrov and Vera Peredkova or the Jakub Bitman and Alzbeta Basova from Czech Republic.

While, the number two seeds Sam Magee and Chloe Magee from Ireland, are also staking out a win, as they did back in 2015. Their opponents will come out of the battle between the hosts Egor Kholkin and Mariia Sukhova against Vitalij Durkin and Nina Vislova.

Men’s Doubles: will the Russians survive?

On the other hand, in the Men’s Doubles, the favorites Arun George and Sanyam Shukla from India, seeded as number one, are hoping to meet their compatriots Krishna Prasad Garaga and Dhruv Kapila, seeded as number two.

In order though to accomplish this, they must overcome strong opponents, including the Russians Vitalij Durkin and Nikolai Ukk, seeded as number four, Evgenij Dremin and Pavel Kotsarenko, Rodion Alimov and Rodion Kargaev, who have won the tittle throughout their careers. As Pavel Kotsarenko and his partner at that time Rodion Alimov did in 2016 and 2015 at the Russian Junior White Nights.

Everything is possible in Singles

In the category of the Men’s Singles, the winner of the White Nights 2015 Vladimir Malkov from Russia, seeded as number three, will participate and will compete against either Kalle Koljonen from Finland or Zvonimir Durkinjak from Croatia.

Additionally, the Indian Subhankar Dey, seeded as number one, will participate in this tournament and on the other side of the draw, the number two seed is Misha Zilberman from Israel, who won the 34th Brazil International Challenge 2019.

In the Women’s Singles, the winner of the White Nights 2017 Evgeniya Kosetskaya from Russia is seeded as number one and will have to compete against either Chua Hui Zhen Grace from Singapore or Alesia Zaitsava from Belarus in the 2nd round.

While, the number two seed Yvonne Li from Germany will play in the 2nd round against either the host Elizaveta Tarasova or Katerina Tomalova from Czech Republic.

In hope of moving on in this event, Thuy Linh Nguyen from Vietnam, seeded as number three will participate as well the winner of the 34th Brazil International Challenge 2019 Lianne Tan from Belgium.
