Two days left for the European Mixed Team Championships which will get underway from 13 to 17 February in Copenhagen and Russia feels ready to compete.

Russia is in Group two and will play against England, Ireland and Germany.

Vladimir Malkov, the best Russian Men's Singles player in the last few years, has revealed to Badminton Europe his team's condition and his ambitions for this continental tournament.

-We feel good before the EMTC 2019 and we are looking forward to good matches, Malkov told Badminton Europe.

Vladimir Malkov is currently number 62 in BWF Men's Singles Ranking and aims to gain points in order to climb up in the ranking and to chase the Olympic Dream for one more time.

Prepared for forceful performances in Copenhagen

Following a typical training program before important competitions, the Russian National Team prepared at the national base in Ramenskoe from February 3rd and is heading to Denmark for the opening of the EMTC 2019.

In reference to the draw, Malkov underlined that all the players are ready to enjoy the tournament, doing their bests, and their opponents are not a matter that plays a crucial role.

-To be honest, it makes no difference against whom we play. We all need to perform our best on court. Everything else, like who will play and what the combinations will be is always a decision made by our national coaches, the Russian player added.

Staking out a place to the podium

However, Malkov's main goal is to help the National team to reach the podium and to achieve as good results as they did in the past years.

- We are always focused on tournaments that are significant. Therefore, we will prepare as usual so I am sure that everything will be perfect, and we will be ready for the games, Malkov said to Badminton Europe.
