Countdown to BEC Congress 2018

Ten days from today, Badminton Europe’s annual Congress will take place. All the European members have been invited to Dubrovnik, Croatia, to take part in a Congress weekend with three events.

The BEC Congress will start off with the Members’ Forum in the morning of Friday 13th of April. During the forum, the members will be presented to the different commissions’ latest developments and strategies. The purpose is to present relevant information to the General Secretaries of all member associations, while providing an opportunity to network and exchange ideas.

Saturday 14th of April will start out with the 51st Annual Delegates’ Meeting (ADM), where the members of the confederation vote and decide on important matters.

At the ADM, the political decisions for the confederation will be made including the election of a Director for Finance for 2018-2022 and two vice-presidents; one for the period of 2018-2021 and one for the period of 2018-2020. Furthermore, three spots on the board are also up for election in the period 2018-2022.

Awards Gala
In the evening of April 14th, the 6th BEC Awards Gala will be conducted from 6 PM with a presenter yet to be announced. 

During this glamorous evening, Badminton Europe will present the winners of the following awards for the year of 2017: BEC Male Player of the Year, BEC Female Player of the Year, BEC Young Player of the Year, BEC Senior Player of the Year, BEC Para-Badminton Player of the Year.

The member associations were able to send in nomination forms for BEC Coach of the Year, BEC Technical Official of the Year and BEC Badminton For Women Award 2017, and the winners of these three awards will also be announced during the gala dinner.

The Croatian Badminton Association are hosting the BEC Congress in cooperation with Badminton Europe at Valamar Dubrovnik President Hotel, in Dubrovnik. The Members’ Forum and Awards Gala will be streamed live on Badminton Europe’s YouTube channel; BE.TV
