Today marked the start of the quarter finals at the TotalEnergies BWF Thomas & Uber Cup Finals 2024.

Uber Cup
The Uber Cup quarter finals have delivered thrilling matches, setting the stage for a high-stakes semi-final showdown this Saturday.

Denmark, the last European contender, bowed out the tournament after a 0-3 defeat to a formidable Chinese team. In another match, Japan clinched a resounding 3-0 victory against India.

The upcoming semi-final will see China, the most decorated team in Uber Cup history, face off against Japan, a consistent powerhouse and the 2018 champions. This matchup promises to be a great clash with both teams looking to add another title to their histories.

The contenders for the other semi-final spot will be decided tomorrow, with Indonesia taking on Thailand and Chinese Taipei facing the reigning champions, Korea.

Thomas Cup
In the Thomas Cup, the Chinese men's team faced a tough challenge from India but despite India's spirited performance, where Lakshya Sen secured a win against Li Shi Feng, China clinched the match 3-1.

Malaysia triumphed in their quarter final against Japan with a score of 3-1. Lee Zii Jia led the charge with a straight-game victory over Kenta Nishimoto. Although Japan leveled the score in the second match, Malaysia captured the next two clashes to seal their victory.

Looking ahead to the next Thomas Cup matches, Denmark will take on Chinese Taipei in the only remaining quarter final featuring a European team. Another exciting quarter final will feature Korea versus Indonesia.
