The Badminton World Federation, in close collaboration with Badminton Denmark, is organizing the BWF World Coaching Conference 2023, which will take place in Copenhagen, Denmark during the World Championships.
From 24 to 25 August, the conference will be held in the
Danish House of Sport, the hub for world-class sport in Denmark and the home of the Danish national badminton team.
Topics such as elite badminton coaching, sports coaching, physical training, Para badminton, injury prevention, and sport science will be covered by world-class speakers from all over the world.
Ra-Kyung-min (Korea), former Olympic gold medalist and world champion, is one of the conference’s speakers and will talk about the role of the female player in mixed doubles, as well as the importance of service and return in mixed doubles.
Andy Wood together with Alistair Higham (GBR), will give an insightful speech about momentum, match flow, and the art of competing.
Ben Ryan (GBR), Director of Elite Performance at Brentford Football Club, will talk about the culture of consistently winning teams while Jan Ekstrand (SWE), team physician of the Swedish national football team, will share his knowledge on the topic: Injuries in Sport – impact management of players and the role communication has on preventing injuries.
There will also be an opportunity to talk to former world-class player Christinna Pedersen, who recently got elected to the BEC Hall of Fame. The Danish women's doubles and mixed doubles legend will answers questions from the audience in a panel Q&A.
