The European talents join forces at the Team Europe Winter Camp in Slovenia
Team Europe’s Winter Camp brought Europe’s brightest youth badminton talents together in Laško, Slovenia, from 12–18 January 2026 hosted by the Badminton Association of Slovenia. Over an intensive week, 66 players (30 male, 36 female) trained under the guidance of nine Team Europe coaches, with a strong training mix of 45 singles and 21 doubles players. Representing 20 different Badminton Europe Members, the camp created a high-performance environment where athletes could challenge themselves, learn from each other, and build lasting connections across borders.
True to the Team Europe project’s purpose, the camp focused on more than just on-court excellence: developing independent, reflective, and self-driven players through a holistic approach. Off-court education was delivered by IMG and BWF through sessions on Star Creation and media training, while a Coach Forum welcomed eight of the Team Europe players´ coaches to support alignment and daily coaching impact.
The camp was led by Team Europe Captains: Anu Nieminen (Finland), Sune Gavnholt (Denmark), and Jose Antonio Crespo (Spain) supported by a strong coaching team: Xu Huiawen (China/England), Delores Marco (Spain), Lukasz Moren (Poland), Fran Dacal (Spain), Szymon Kostka (Poland).
Next up: Team Europe Summer Camp, 12–21 July 2026, in Vejen, Denmark.
