Taking another step towards a greener future at the office
26/09/25 09:24

At Badminton Europe, we are continuously working to strengthen our commitment to sustainability and ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance). One of our latest initiatives is a change in the way we handle waste at the office.

We have introduced a new sorting system that allows us to separate different types of waste in a more climate- and environmentally friendly way. This means that we now sort our waste into categories such as plastic, paper, metal, glass, food waste and residual waste, ensuring that as much as possible can be reused and recycled.
Our efforts extend beyond the office interior. We’ve arranged proper sorting facilities outside the building, making it easier to manage larger waste items and maintain consistency in our waste handling practices.

Why is this important?

Waste sorting is not just a practical measure, but an important part of our responsibility as an organisation. By ensuring proper sorting, we:

  • Reduce the amount of waste ending up as residual waste.
  • Give more materials a new life through recycling.
  • Lower our overall CO₂ footprint.

A collective effort

To support this initiative, we’ve eliminated personal waste baskets at desks. This encourages centralized sorting and reduces the risk of incorrect disposal.
This new initiative requires contributions from all of us in our daily routines, and we are proud to see how colleagues at the office have already embraced these new habits. Small changes in our everyday practices can, when combined, make a big difference.
Twice a year, we host Green Days some dedicated events where employees come together to clean up the office and sort accumulated waste. These days are more than just clean-up efforts; they’re opportunities to reflect on our environmental impact and brainstorm new sustainable measures we can adopt in our daily operations.

Part of our ESG strategy

By making waste separation a shared responsibility, we’re not only reducing our environmental footprint but also strengthening our workplace community.
For us, this step is more than just waste sorting. It is part of a broader ESG journey, where we continuously look at ways to improve our environmental and social impact. From energy-saving solutions in the office to larger projects across the organisation
