The fifth partner meeting of the SHUTTLERS project which is led by Badminton Europe and supported by the European Union through the Erasmus+ programme, took place on 22–23 October 2025 in Madrid. The gathering was hosted by Universidad Europea de Madrid and brought together representatives from all partner organisations:
- Sport Coaching Europe
- Universidad Europea de Madrid
- German Badminton Association
- Lithuanian Badminton Federation
- Austrian Badminton Association
The partners met to review the progress of the project and to align on the next key steps. SHUTTLERS is currently working on 4 concepts being developed and pilot tested with great inspiration from the developed and published framework: European Framework for the recruitment and retention of young badminton players.
These concepts focus on:
- Club development, how to structure and develop a sustainable badminton club.
- Badminton Schools introduces children to badminton in a fun and engaging way.
- Education through badminton, where kids can learn math or other relevant knowledge through badminton exercises.
- Retention concept which is a fun and exciting concept that keeps beginners engaged to badminton through inspiring storytelling, relevant exercises and inspiring reward systems.
We are excited to soon share all four concepts, which are planned to be finalized, presented, and made available to the European badminton community in 2026.
