From July 24 to August 1, the Badminton Association of Serbia hosted a BEC para-badminton project, “Preparatory Training Camp for the European Para-Badminton Championship 2025,” at the Youth Camp “Djerdap” in Karataš.

The long-standing cooperation between the Badminton Association of Serbia and the Badminton Federation of Türkiye continued with the organization of joint training preparations within the European para-badminton project. The camp was led by Milan Barbir, head coach of Serbia’s para-badminton national team, and Ayhan Bajdil, head coach of Türkiye's para-badminton national team. Members of Serbia’s national badminton team also participated in para-badminton training and sparring activities.

Training sessions included on-court work with the shuttle as well as fitness exercises, complemented by social activities during free time. The program also incorporated anti-doping education delivered by Prof. Milica Vukašinović Vesić, Ph.D., Director of the Anti-Doping Agency of the Republic of Serbia, and a lecture by Nikola Andrić, M.Sc., from the Faculty of Sports and Physical Education at the University of Novi Sad, focusing on injury prevention in badminton.

Both the Serbian and Türkish para-badminton national teams are using this preparation period to build form for the remainder of the competitive season. The next major event on their calendar is the European Para-Badminton Championships, scheduled for late September in Istanbul, Türkiye.
